What's New in the Intel C++ Compiler for Linux
Advanced Optimization Intel C++ Compiler for Linux provides advanced optimization features for applications running on the latest Intel processors, including Intel® Pentium® 4 processor supporting Hyper-Threading Technology, Intel® Xeon?, Intel Pentium M ? a component of Intel® Centrino? mobile technology, and Intel Itanium 2 processors. Enhancements to existing optimization features continue into this release and include interprocedural optimization, profile guided optimization, data prefetching, highly efficient floating-point optimization, automatic vectorization, auto-parallelization and more. Intel compilers also provide threaded application development and optimization through support of the OpenMP 2.0 standard and auto-parallelism feature. Works with GCC Intel C++ Compiler 8.0 for Linux is source and object code compatible with
GNU C (GCC 3.2) which means developers can mix code compiled by the Intel
compiler with code compiled by GCC 3.2. This can be useful in cases where
developers do not have access to source but do have access to binaries.
Developers can also continue to use familiar Linux development utilities with
